This Wednesday Alex turned 8 weeks old! I can't believe how fast he is growing up!!! He goes back to the doctor's on March 1st for his official 2 month well baby visit and shots (poor guy) but we did make a trip to the doctor's last week. Alex had been really congested and was so stuffed up that his first feedings in the morning were rough on him. The doctor checked him out and said it wasn't an infection but was most likely due to the vog in the air last week. He did get weighed while he was there and he weighed 12 pounds 8.8 ounces...we will see if he has gained much more at our visit next week.
We are trying to get Alex (and Mommy) ready for when I return to work next month. We have been trying to work on a more consistent schedule for his feedings and sleeping. Right now he is giving us about a good 5-6 hour stretch at night and then wakes up for a middle of the night feeding but basically sleeps through it and goes back down easily. After that initial wake up though, it is like his internal clock resets and he is up every 2-3 hours wanting to be fed.
His personality is really developing right now. He can have a very serious look on his face and then see Mom or Dad smile at him or tickle his neck and then he breaks out into a really sweet smile. He is cooing and "talking" to the bears on the mobile in his pack and play.
Here are a few pictures of Alex from week 7 and 8.
