Easter 2011

We had a wonderful first Easter with Alex!!!  The Easter Bunny brought Alex some toys, books and a sippy cup with his name on it for when he is just a little older.
Alex and Mommy were up early so we went to the 7:00 a.m. mass while Daddy slept from working the night before.
Later in the day, Oma and Opa (Justin's mom and stepdad) came over to our apartment to have Easter dinner.  It was a very nice day!
Apparently Alex was still in the partying mood because he woke up every 3 hours to eat again last night...he had been doing a few nights in a row of sleeping from 7:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. without waking up.  I hope he gets back into that routine quickly :)

Here are some Easter Day pictures.

Looking forward to Easter!

Wow...I can't believe Easter is just a few days away!!! It seems like it was just Christmas and I was super pregnant and dying to find out when our little guy would make his appearance.  Now he is almost 4 months old and getting ready to celebrate his first Easter!!
Here are a few pictures of him in his Easter pajamas and meeting the Easter Bunny.
Can't wait to see him in his Easter outfit and take pictures of him with his Easter basket on Sunday morning :)

Somebunny loves me!

Love the bunny butt ;)

Wondering what the Easter Bunny will bring him

A little blurry....Justin had to zoom in from behind the photographer.  The professional ones look much clearer!

Just waiting on the Easter bunny to fill it up!

One year ago...

Wow...it is hard to believe that one year ago to the date (it was actually a Thursday last year) we found out we were pregnant!!! It is so hard to believe that time has gone by that quickly!!! Back then I was wishing time would fly by so I could officially tell people, find out the sex, and of course meet our baby (eventually I would add stop pricking my finger for gestational diabetes to the list!).  Now I wish time would slow down...my little baby is getting so big already!  He will be 4 months on the 29th!

 Then...April 15, 2010

Now...April 15, 2011

So much hair!

I think I am still in awe of how much hair Alex still has/was born with.  All the babies on my side of the family were bald so it definitely must come from Justin's side (along with most of Alex looks that he got from his father...he is Justin's mini me!)
Here are a few pictures from bath time the other night when Justin attempted to make a mohawk out of Alex's hair.

Yeah...he constantly has his hands in his mouth now.  He doesn't like taking a pacifier...he'd rather see how many fingers he can shove in his mouth at a time instead!

Busy little guy

Alex has been really "talking" up a storm lately!  We love to hear him in his crib when he wakes up just cooing and babbling to the turtles and octopus on his wall.  He has discovered how to make different pitch noises...so cute!

Alex has also been rolling from side to side a lot. He hasn't made it all the way over on his own yet but he should be getting there anyday now!

We finally received the rest of Alex's nursery bedding in the mail today!!! I ordered it in November but half of the order was on back order so it took forever to get in.  I can't wait to finally be done decorating his room!

Alex and Maiyah

For the most part I think Maiyah has come to terms with the fact that Alex is here to stay.  Usually she ignores him but will give the occasionally sloppy kiss as she walks by his bouncer chair or a long sniff if he has a dirty diaper.  Alex has started to be a little more aware of Maiyah.  Today Alex and I were outside with Maiyah and he followed her with his eyes as she walked back and forth sniffing out the perfect spot to do her business.
When I was pregnant, Justin had found this website (Cafe Press) that makes novelty t-shirts for pregnancy and beyond. He bought himself some dad related shirts and then found two onesies for Alex.  One says "Someone please tell the dog I am not a squeaky toy" (I may have posted a picture of that one before).  The other says "My sister is a German Shepherd."
Here are a few pictures of Alex and Maiyah today with Alex wearing one of the onesies (and mom not to far away in case Maiyah decided she had enough of the modeling session).

Party Time!

We had a great time today at Zach Martin's first birthday party!  Our friends, Katie and Matt, had a pool party to celebrate their son Zach's first birthday.  Zach was the leader of the second baby boom in our group of friends out here.  He was followed by Makenzie (August), Dylan (September), Mia (November), Joseph (December) and our own "little" Alex (December).
We took this opportunity to try and get a group shot of them all together...of course it was chaos but cute to see them all together :)

How many babies can fit in one pack and play ?!?!?

Alex can't sit on his own yet but did a good job being propped up in the corner.

 Wondering what is going on??

3 1/2 months

Wow...I can't believe that Alex is 3 1/2 months old already!!! Where is the time going???
He has been doing pretty well going to daycare the past two weeks.  Justin has had the pick up/drop off duty but I have been sending a notebook in his diaper bag so the sitter and I can write quick notes back and forth if needed.  Tomorrow I will be dropping Alex off in the morning to give Justin a little extra time to sleep since he works at the pub on Thursday nights and doesn't get home until after 3 A.M. and then has to go to class from 9-11 before picking Alex up from the sitter.
I think I will be in trouble in future parent teacher conference because already I got a comment from the sitter that "he sure can talk!!!" and "he was in a good mood today...he was talking a lot!!"
He does love to have "conversations" with people and in the morning we wake up to hearing him talking away in his crib :)
We think he will be rolling over anyday now!  He is getting so close...he gets himself over onto his side but hasn't figured out the last motion yet.  But that hasn't stopped him from practicing all day and night (we see him on the video monitor rolling from side to side in his sleep...so cute!).

Here are some pictures from last weekend.  I finally was able to try on his first Phillies baseball hat (as well as his straw fedora that I couldn't resist getting to go with his Easter outfit).
